Tehran - At least 28 people were killed Monday when a bus crashed into a building in western Iran, the news network Khabar reported.

High speed and technical problems were blamed for the crash on a road in Ilam province, which borders Iraq, the report said, citing a police report.

The passengers were on their way to southern Iraq for a pilgrimage, Khabar said. (dpa)
