After M&M, it’s now Maruti's turn to go greenAfter the conglomerate M&M has taken a next road to growth in alternative fuel with the acquisition of a majority stake in the electric car maker, Reva Electric Car Co., it is now the turn of the domestic market leader Maruti Suzuki to look at the options of launching the CNG compatible models in the Indian market.

According to the sources familiar to the developments, the company is planning to launch the CNG compatible variants it’s most popular models in the Indian market.

In fact, the company has earlier made its presence felt in the alternative fuel segment with the launch of the LPG variant in the Omni and WagonR in the Indian market.

Notably, the launch of the LPG model in its WagonR has been very successful as the company has been selling almost 25% of its total sales in the duo version.

Moreover, the company hasn't stopped the sales of the duo version in India apart from the 13 major cities even after the launch of a new variant. The company is planning to launch the CNG models in the coming six months and will be looking at it as the next path to growth for the company.
