After M&M, Ruias bid for Ssangyong Motors

Ssangyong-MotorsThings are getting for the bankrupt South Korean automaker, Ssangyong Motors. After one of India's biggest business group, Mahindra &Mahindra, it is now turns of the Ruias to bid for buying the car maker.

Ruias are Kolkata-based and are one of India's most big business family; having interest in various sectors. The deadline for the bidding process for Ssangyong Motors is to end on Tuesday.

The group in a press statement said, "(The) Ruia group is indeed bidding for SsangYong. This has been decided in a meeting, presided by Pawan K Ruia, chairman."

While no information was given about the total worth of the deal, it is going to be a big one.

Ssangyong Motors has been able to attract the eyeballs of big auto-making companies including the likes of Renault-Nissan alliance. There are two Korean companies who are already in the line.

The company has been declared bankrupt since early 2009. It was the fourth largest automaker of South Korea and is into the making of sport utility vehicles, recreational vehicles and sedans.

Meanwhile, the Ruias are already approaching the market for possible funding of deal and are said to have got positive response.
