London, July 25 : Popstar Amy Winehouse has been cleared of assaulting a fan.
The Back to Black singer was accused of punching a fan, named Sherene Flash, at the summer ball in Berkeley Square, central London, last September.
The 25-year-old star told the City of Westminster Magistrates Court that she pushed the woman trying to take her photograph, but did not punch her.
District Judge Timothy Workman cleared her of assaulting Flash, 27 - a burlesque dancer who was left with a sore right eye after asking to pose with the star for a photo at a charity ball.
He backed Winehouse's claims that she accidentally struck the boozy fan while fending her off.
"There was no evidence of the sort of injury that often occurs when there is a forceful punch to the eye," the Sun quoted the judge as saying.
"The charge is dismissed," he added. (ANI)
