New Delhi, Oct 29 Delhiites were greeted with a pleasant nip in the air Thursday with the met office predicting more such mornings and evenings as winter slowly sets in.

According to the met department, the minimum temperature in the morning was about three degrees below average.

"On Thursday morning, the minimum was 13.7 degrees Celsius around three degrees below average for this time of year. Temperatures in the morning and evenings could lower in the coming days," an India Meteorological Department official said.

During the day, the maximum could touch the 31 degree Celsius mark and the minimum could dip to 15 degrees Celsius. "There will be mainly clear skies with morning mist," the official said.

Office-goers found the weather especially enjoyable.

"The misty morning and cool weather was the perfect start to my day. Although it gets warm and sunny during the day, mornings and evenings are hinting that winter is coming," said Sumitra Roy, a marketing professional. (IANS)
