Lahore, Feb. 14: Banned Pakistan pacer Mohammed Asif has called upon his English medical expert Dr. Michael Graham to help in his appeal against his one year ban imposed by the Indian Premier League Drugs tribunal.

"Dr Graham is on a short trip to Lahore and then he will be going to Mumbai, with this matter," The Nation quoted Asif, as saying.

Asif will discuss his case with his lawyers in the presence of his doctor, while his sports management company `Portfolio World' will assist him.

In an e-mailed statement to the media, Asif said, "Strangely the order sent by IPL was only signed by one of the jury members, whereas the other two jury members have not signed, and one of the jury members was Sunil Gavaskar."

In July last year, the Pakistan Cricket Board suspended Asif over drug related charges, and IPL tribunal's one-year ban will continue till September 22, 2009.

However, the PCB, which is now supporting the bowler, has asked the IPL to revise the time period of the one-year ban so that it ends in July 2009.

"The ban runs till September 21 this year for the moment, but we have said in the letter that it should be back-dated to the date on which his result was announced," a PCB spokesperson said. (ANI)
