Aurobindo Pharma, leading Hyderabad based drug firm, has announced that it has got approval from South African (SA) Medicines Control Council to manufacture and sell two drugs in South Africa.
The approval has been granted for Auro Ampicillin injection in potency of 500 mg and 1,000 mg Auropidone tablets in 0.5 mg strength.
Auro Ampicillin injection is an antibiotic which is indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections and Auropidone tablets, fall under central nervous system (CNS) category.
With this approval, the pharma major (Aurobindo Pharma) now has a total of 37 products sanctioned by the MCC.
The sources informed Medicines Control Council (MCC) is a statutory body that was set up to oversee the regulation of medicines in South Africa.
