A four-month-old infant in Maryland, US, was found with teeth formed in his brain because of an uncommon tumour in the brain.

The tumour was uncovered close to the youngster's pituitary organ after tests uncovered his head was becoming big.

Specialists at the University of Maryland Medical Centre initially suspected something could not be right when the youngster's head had all the earmarks of growing with speed.

"It's not every day when you see teeth in any sort of tumour in the cerebrum. In craniopharyngioma, its unbelievable," said Narlin Beaty, a neurosurgeon at the University of Maryland who performed the surgery.

A brain scan uncovered a tumour holding structure that looked fundamentally the same to teeth ordinarily found in the lower jaw.

The kid experienced brain surgery to get the tumour evacuated, throughout which specialists found that the tumour held a tooth.

After a dissection of the tumour tissue, specialists decided the youngster had a craniopharyngioma, an extraordinary mind tumour that can develop to be bigger than golf ball, yet does not spread.
