Bajaj Auto giving Hero Honda a tough time

Hero-Honda-Bajaj-AutoAs Hero Honda is busy solving its supply issues, it is the second-largest two-wheeler maker in the country, Bajaj Auto that it giving a tough time to the market leader to keep its market shares intact in the Indian market.

Notably, after losing a lot of ground to Hero Honda in 2006, Bajaj Auto has come back very strongly in the 100cc segment with the launch of Bajaj Discover.

After the company announced to exit the 100cc segment, the volumes were miserably down and Hero Honda gained ground riding on the back of the boom in the rural areas.

However, according to the numbers released by SIAM for the number for the last fiscal, it is quite evident that Hero Honda has been losing its market share to Bajaj Auto after the Pune based two-wheeler maker announced the launch of Discover in the sub 125cc last year.

But Anil Dua, Senior Vice President - Marketing & Sales, Hero Honda Motors confirmed the fact that the company has never kept competition far from their eyes and things are still moving as per the company had planned for the future.
