Washington, June 19 : Billy Joel's ex-wife Christie Brinkley has broken her silence on the rocker's recent split with wife Katie Lee.

Joel's break-up followed after pictures of the 27-year-old's dirty dancing pictures with Yigal Azrouel got published on U. S tabloids to the dismay of the singer.

However representative of the Uptown Girl singer denied saying the "decision to separate was absolutely unrelated to Yigal."

Contactmusic reports, Brinkley, showed she cared for her ex-husband while speaking to Access Hollywood.

"My heart goes out to them. It''s sad news, but Billy is a great dad and a great friend, so of course, I wish him the best," she said.

The beauty had parted ways with Peter Cook last year. (ANI)
