Hong Kong - A body has been found floating off a popular Hong Kong beach only two days after reports that a US man had fallen into the sea while watching a dragon boat race, police said Wednesday.

Police mounted a search after reports on Sunday that a 28-year-old man had fallen overboard from a boat during the annual races which take place at various seaside locations including Stanley on the Tuen Ng Festival.

The body was found Tuesday afternoon floating off Stanley beach on Hong Kong island.

Police confirmed the deceased is a foreign male but on Wednesday said the investigation was ongoing and had not released the identity of the body. (dpa)
