Boffins at the University of Illinois are believed to have found that breast milk is the best method of nourishment in case of infants.

It is believed that breast milk induces genetic pathways that may help in curing several solutions at the ground level. Although several alternatives for the breast-milk has been developed but the genes are supposedly responsible that aim to provide various expressions later in phase of life, says Sharon Donovan, a University of Illinois professor of nutrition.

The milk is supposed to lower all kinds of illnesses in infants due to its immune-protective components.

The intestinal tracts of the newborns are also known to undergo various infant linked intestinal tract changes, but still it is being figured out that how it aids in development of the intestine.

Meanwhile the study’s work is in progress and will appear in the upcoming June 2010 issue of the American Journal of Physiology, Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology.
