British Airways, Kingfisher looking forward to an arrangement

kingfisher-planesKingfisher Airlines and British Airways (BA) are negotiating to form an arrangement between the two airlines. If successful, BA would then be able to book its passengers on the Indian airline's flights, as per the details given by a newspaper on Monday. BA is the second largest carrier in Europe.

What is striking is that the arrangement is going to be the first of its kind between an Indian company and European aviation major.

The deal is expected to go for the regulatory approvals as soon as the companies are able to decide on the code of arrangements. Both airlines expect to get a positive nod from the authorities very soon. As per the spokesperson of Kingfisher, primary talks have already begun in the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Experts believe that the arrangement will be beneficial for both the airlines. This would help them to develop a market for themselves in the areas where they have less or no presence. Kingfisher, which has small network in international routes, will now be able to go for such flights, while BA will have Indian presence after this.
