comBharat Sanchar Nigam (BSNL) may end up with a drastic loss in this current fiscal year. It had encountered it's first ever loss in the previous quarter and it has affected the annual report too.
The accounts of the state owned firm has shown a loss of Rs 2,611 crore for the year ended March 2010, while the company has managed to produce a profit of Rs 575 crore, a year ago. Its revenues fell to Rs 32,966 crore which is 7.9% of decline from the preceding year's revenue. The company has not officially announced the financial result yet.
Senior principal at Dua Consulting and former chairman of Videsh Sanchar Nigam, Mr. BK Syngal has informed that the government has proposed false management tactics to run the organization. The Govt. have never allowed the board to make its decision and captured the entire hierarchy from top to bottom.
However, according to sources, the Govt. has decided to pay Rs 2,600 crore for the subsidization of the landline business. The firm is also going to receive Rs 3,080 crore as interest from bank deposits.
