Lahore, Sep. 28 : Pakistani pacer Mohammad Aamer is learning the nuances of international cricket fast. The way he claimed Sachin Tendulkar’s wicket at the Centurion proves just that, a Pakistani cricket expert has said.
“He has learnt that if you want to hurt the opposition, then you must target their main man. So far he has been able to deliver every time,” The Nation quoted Mudassar Nazar, the former director at PCB''s Lahore-based National Cricket Academy, as saying.

Ambassador Patterson is scheduled to call on Sharif at his Model Town residence in Lahore during the day, sources said.
This will be their first meeting since Sharif's dramatic return to Pakistan on November 25 after having been unceremoniously deported to Saudi Arabia in September.
The meeting acquires special significance given the rejection of former Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif's nomination papers by the returning officer in Lahore and the PML-N's announcement to boycott the January 8 elections.

London, Mar. 27 : A client has claimed that a married British barrister with whom she had an affair charged her 250 pounds an hour for the time he spent having sex with her.
In legal papers filed before the London High Court, Anal Sheikh, 48, claimed that she enjoyed secret love trysts with high-flying solicitor Marc Beaumont, 46.
In a High Court writ, she alleged Beaumont charged her 250 pounds an hour while helping her to prepare a defence in a disciplinary case brought against her by the Law Society.

Kinnaur (Himachal Pradesh), Dec 25 : Himachal Pradesh Police has claimed to have arrested four Nepalese nationals, who were trying to smuggle maple wood from Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district to their country on Thursday.
A case has been registered under the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPc) and Forest Act against the arrested four, who had come to India to get logs and hunks of wood, which would be used in prayers, and for making bowls and other crockery, the police said.

Washington - The United States will provide 10 million dollars in aid to help Haiti recover from the devastation of four tropical storms and hurricanes this season, the White House said Wednesday.
Spokeswoman Dana Perino said the US would deliver supplies as well as provide transportation and logistical support for those in need.
About 300 people have been killed in Haiti as Hurricanes Gustav, Hanna and now Ike ravaged the impoverished Caribbean nation.

Sarajevo - Bosnian lawmakers Wednesday gave final approval to new laws on the divided country's police forces, paving the way for closer integration with the European Union.
The vote in the upper chamber, the House of Peoples, was 10-4. The lower house passed the reform last week.
Although the EU insisted for years that the reform should unite the police forces fragmented along the lines of Bosnia's ethnic entities - the Muslim-Croat Federation and the Serb-run Srpska Republic - the new law has no immediate effect on that division.

Taipei - Taiwan is seeking the return of almost 30 million dollars intended to launch diplomatic ties with Papua New Guinea (PNG) which was embezzled by two Taiwanese men, the foreign ministry confirmed Thursday.
Phoebe Yeh, the ministry's acting spokeswoman, confirmed a Singapore newspaper report that Taipei is seeking the return of the money through a Singapore court.

Hong Kong - A popular Hong Kong TV actress was Monday banned from driving for 12 months after hitting a motorbike while four-times over the legal blood-alcohol limit.
Angela Tong, 34, was also fined 1,200 Hong Kong dollars (155 US dollars) and ordered to do 160 hours community service after admitting to drink-driving and careless driving.
Tong, who has appeared in dozens of Chinese language TV movies and a some cinema productions, crashed into a motorcycle at a red traffic light in November, slightly injuring the rider and passenger.

London, December 3 : Lindsay Lohan, who has been dating Samantha Ronson since earlier this year, has given rumours claiming her break-up with the DJ a beating.
The ‘Mean Girls’ actress was said to have been contemplating the split following a series of arguments with her girlfriend, reports the Daily Star.
Brit tabloid the Sun had reported that the pair had been caught up in a spat outside a London nightclub that had left the star “in tears”.
The singer, however, told MySpace fans that she had been sick and tired of the rumours, adding that the two were still together.
