Inflation Rate Inches Up From 0.26% To 0.57%India’s wholesale price index rose to 0.57% during the week ended April 18 as compared to 0.26% in the previous week.

During the corresponding week of the previous year, the annual inflation rate stood at 8.23%.

During the third week of April, the inflationary figures as measured by the wholesale price index (WPI) increased mainly because of an increase in food prices while fuel and manufactured products turned a little costlier.

French consumer prices fall in DecemberParis - French consumer prices fell by 0.2 per cent in December compared to the previous month, owing largely to falling energy prices, the government's statistical office INSEE said on Wednesday.

Year on year, inflation stood at 1 per cent, INSEE said, after energy prices fell by 5.6 per cent in December, driven by a drop of 9.4 per cent in the cost of petroleum products.

Over 12 months, the price of petroleum products declined by nearly 15 per cent.

Philippines inflation rate eases to 11.9 per cent in September

Philippines inflationManila - The Philippine's inflation rate eased to 11.9 per cent in August amid stability in food and oil prices, the government said Tuesday.

The National Statistics Office (NSO) said September's inflation rate was lower than 12.5 per cent recorded in August. Inflation in September last year was 2.7 per cent.

"The country's annual inflation rate for food alone continued to improve at 17 per cent in September from 18.1 per cent in August," the agency said.

Eurostat's preliminary estimates Tuesday.

The European Statistical Institute does not offer a detailed breakdown
of the inflation figure in its flash estimates, which have been shown
to be reliable despite being based on early price information.

Euro area inflation had fallen to 3.8 per cent in August, thanks in part to an easing off of food and oil prices.
