Mumbai: The 2017 Nissan GT-R, Nissan Motor India's flagship sports car, was launched for the first time in India priced at Rs 1.99 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
"The GT-R is a very special car for Nissan and we are delighted to add it to our Indian line-up for the first time in its history," Guillaume Sicard, President - Nissan India Operations was quoted as saying in a statement.
"It also continues our commitment to our Indian customers to offer an evolving range of dynamic and exciting new models. The GT-R will give a great boost to the Nissan brand in India and is guaranteed to turn many heads."
According to the company, 2017 Nissan GT-R is produced at Nissan`s state-of-the-art plant in Tochigi, Japan, and will be brought to India as a CBU (completely built-up unit).

Washington, Aug 28 : Nissan has added a new feature to its upcoming cars that would allow users to send text messages while driving, without taking their eyes off the road.
The hands-free text messaging assistant is part of NissanConnect, which is free for three years and then costs about 20 dollars per year.
Users can reply to people via canned responses, or add their own custom messages. Users can also set a default reply for everyone who sends them any message.
New Delhi: Japanese car maker Nissan today reported over two-fold increase in sales at 5,021 units in India for the month of May.
The company had sold 2,080 vehicles in May 2013, Nissan Group of India said in a statement.
The newly launched brand Datsun GO contributed 1,992 units, it added. Commenting on the sales performance, Nissan Group of India President Kenichiro Yomura said: "Our sales performance has been encouraging since the start of FY'14 and our aim is to continue to remain progressive on our performance.
New Delhi, March 19 : Japan's Nissan Motor Company Wednesday launched its entry-level hatchback, Datsun GO, priced between Rs. 3.12 lakh and Rs. 3.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The launch marks the revival of the Datsun brand after 32 years. The entry-level hatchback which has been engineered and developed in India was first showcased last year.
The entry-level vehicle is powered by a 1.2 litre three-cylinder petrol engine and a fuel economy of about 20.63 km a litre. The engine is coupled with a five-speed manual transmission.
Chennai, Feb 4 - Japanese auto major Nissan Motor Company hopes to clock 50 percent of its sales volumes from its Datsun models in India, a senior company official said.
"Datsun will account for 50 percent of the total Nissan's sales in India," Toshiyuki Shiga, vice chairman, Nissan Motor Company said at a company function to commemorate the rolling out of the Datsun Go model near here.
He said the customers of Datsun want more value for money without compromising on vehicle features.
Chennai, Nov 26 : The Indian subsidiary of Japanese automobile company Nissan Motor Company will set up a separate distribution network for selling its Datsun GO cars to be launched next year, it said Tuesday.
A company spokesperson told IANS that the existing distribution arrangement with Hover Automotive India would continue for Nissan badged vehicles.
Currently, Hover Automotive is responsible for setting up a dealer network for Nissan Motor India.
Mumbai, Aug 20 : Japanese auto maker Nissan Tuesday showcased the new Terrano premium compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) all set to go on sale in October across the country.
Refusing to give any details on pricing, the company said that the starting price tag for the car would be below Rs. 10 lakh and that the bookings will commence Sep 1.
"Terrano marks our entry into the compact SUV segment, which is one of the fastest growing segments in the Indian market today," Kenichiro Yomura, president, Nissan India Operations, said.
Japanese automaker, Nissan has entered into a ten year agreement with the Ennore Port Limited for exporting its vehicles to other parts of the world.
The agreement includes special services for the company such as in wharf age up to 60,000 units, free parking space and priority in handling its automobile units. The company has already export a total of 2.5 lakh units of cars from Chennai.
Hinduja Group's Ashok Leyland Ltd recently introduced the world to its new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) called Stile, which has been developed by Ashok Leyland-Nissan Motor Co joint venture.
Scheduled to hit the roads later this year, the Ashok Leyland Stile will be rolled out of Nissan's Oragadam-based manufacturing facility.
The Stile will be available in Diesel as well as CNG versions. With seating options of 2 and 3 rows, the vehicle will target urban and rural areas, panel vans, hotel shuttles, taxi service, ambulance service and more.
Mexico City, June 6 - Japanese automaker Nissan said it would begin selling its Note model, which is being made in Mexico, in the middle of this month, targeting the US and Canadian markets.
The Note, a mini MPV launched in 2004, was being made at the plants in Kyushu, Japan, and Sunderland, England.
The automaker began manufacturing the model last month at its plant in Aguascalientes, a state in central Mexico.
Chennai, May 10 : Production of cars at the Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL) will not be impacted due to the fire that gutted down the warehouse belonging to Yusen Logistics (India) Ltd, a senior official of Nissan Motor India Friday said.
Renault Nissan Automotive is a vehicle manufacturing joint venture between French group Renault and Japanese Nissan Motor Company. The 400,000 units per annum car plant, located at Oragadam near here, rolls out Nissan and Renault badged cars.
