DB Realty registers a bad start on Dalal StreetThe real estate company DB Realty had a slow start on the Dalal Street. The company made its debut on the stock market with its listing which wasn't as per the expectations. Investors and experts forecasted a strong opening for DB Realty but the reality differs.

The shares listed at Bombay Stock Exchange at Rs. 430, which was 8.1% lower than the company's issue price of Rs. 468. Also during the day the stock fell to as low as Rs. 412.5 and closed at Rs. 455.4. The closing price was
2.7% lower than the issue price. The boost up in the stocks that came later in the day was because Janus Capital bought 15 lakh shares at Rs. 435 each.

Real Estate experts pointed out that the stocks of the company were highly priced and it would have been attractive to investors if price between the bracket of Rs. 390-415. The issue was subscribed 2.5 times and the company managed to raise Rs. 1500 crore through the IPO.

DB Realty will be using the funds mainly on the construction and development of some projects apart from pre-paying the loan from IDFC.

There is another round of corrections expected in the real estate stocks, once the Reserve Bank of India announces its credit policy in the month of April.
