Delhi Metro flying on new skies!As in the wake of CWG, the government has ensured that a dedicated lane for the CWG traffic and coupled with the blue-line phase out in this period, several people staying in the capital have now decided to take the Metro for their daily ride.

In fact, the Metro has recently touched a new daily high of 15 lakh commuters on Monday owing to the chaos that is happening on the Delhi roads.

According a DMRC official, the Delhi Metro has recently clocked a ridership figures of 15, 56,563 on Monday, which according to the official has surpassed the earlier record on September 6 when 14,44,023 people traveled by Metro.

For the record, as far as the most busy lines on the metro are concerned, it was the Line 3 (Dwarka sector 9 to Noida/Anand Vihar), which was used by 5,64,646 people, followed by Line 2 with a ridership of 5,31,337 (Jehangirpuri to Huda City Centre) and Line 1 (Rithala to Dilshad Garden) with a ridership of 2,88,276.

In fact, it is expected that the trend will continue at least in the CWG period.
