Diana once walked onto nudist beach in her strive for solitary freedom

Diana once walked onto nudist beach in her strive for solitary freedomLondon, Aug 19 : The late Princess of Wales, Diana, wanted some moments of solitary freedom so much that she made arrangements for secret walks without her bodyguard, say reports.

Her former bodyguard, Ken Wharfe, has revealed that it was during one such walk that the princess, who begged him to let her have an hour to herself to do "normal things", stumbled upon a nudist beach by accident.

He recalled how when the Princess found out he had a holiday home on the south coast, she insisted on being taken there to get away from the limelight.

Wharfe took her to his cottage in Dorset, where she had the freedom to wander around unprotected.

"She used to say to me: `I want to come down. It must be great fun doing normal things.' I asked her what she wanted to do and she said, `I'd love to walk on a beach in this country'," the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

"So we went down, just the two of us. Sometimes that is the best protection when nobody else knows," he said.

On one of her walks Wharfe mistakenly guided her straight on to a nudist beach, but luckily Diana found the situation hilarious, and immediately called him on a walkie-talkie to relay back all the details.

"I gave her a radio and said, `Follow the shoreline and I shall see you round there in about an hour'," he explained.

"After a while my radio crackled into life and I could hear her laughing. I asked her if she was OK and she said, `You didn't tell me about the nudist beach'.

"It was a great day. Nobody knew we did that," he added. (ANI)
