Ebola crisis may jeopardize efforts to control malaria

Fatoumata Nafo-TraoreLondon, Oct 27 : A top malaria control expert has said that the Ebola crisis may jeopardize efforts to control malaria.

Fatoumata Nafo-Traore, who heads the Roll Back Malaria (RBM) Partnership said, after visiting West Africa , that all the health workers are concentrating on Ebola.

She said that children's wards that used to be filled with malaria patients were becoming 'ghost areas', reported the BBC.

In 2012, at least 7,000 people died due to malaria in the three countries that are worst hit by the Ebola epidemic. (ANI)
