Economic delegation to travel to Haiti with Bill Clinton

Port-au-Prince, Haiti  - Former US president Bill Clinton is to lead a large international economic delegation to Haiti later this week to help boost the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

About 100 representatives from the US and other countries in the region will meet with Haitian officials in Port-au-Prince on Thursday and Friday to discuss investment opportunities.

The Inter-American Development Bank, which has about 729 million dollars of projects in Haiti, organized the effort.

Clinton was named a UN special envoy to Haiti in May. (dpa)
