Edvance Group's first preschool opened

In a bid to offer quality education, Edvance Group launched Vivero International, its first preschool in the city, at Kalyaninagar on Sunday. Narendra Jadhav, vice-chancellor, University of Pune (UoP), inaugurated the preschool.

Speaking on the occasion, Jadhav commended the initiative. "The preschool is an important project in the city as it will help in reducing the gap between education and society," he said.

Praising the motto 'inquire, think and learn' of the preschool, he said, "Asking questions to teachers is considered to bad manners in the Indian education system, which affects the inquisitiveness of students. However, in this preschool, students will be encouraged to ask questions." He also said that there was a need to educate little minds to make good world leaders in this era of globalisation.

With built-up area of around 10,000 sqft, the preschool will offer a unique programme for children aged 18 months to five years. The preschool will offer four levels that include pre-nursery, nursery, kindergarten 1 and kindergarten 2. There will be one teacher for each every six children.

Vivero International has partnered with EtonHouse International Education Group, which has preschools and international schools in Singapore, China and Indonesia.

Speaking on the occasion, Arun Arora, executive chairman, Edvance Group, said that preschools were the need of the hour as the present education system in the county had gone wrong. "There is a major difference between what is taught in the class and what is sought by the industry and ultimately the leadership quality is going down," he said. "As much as 70% of potential development of the children happens during school days, so we started the preschool to imbibe good values," he said.

NG Gim Choo, managing director, EtonHouse and NG Hark, director of Singapore-based EtonHouse, were also present on the occasion.
