An eight month pregnant woman of Alibaug, Maharashtra is first swine flu victim this year, claims an official report.

The woman named Naziya Admane, is a 27 year old woman who is claimed to be the first victim of swine flu and has expired within a day's time.

The Doctors said that she was eight months pregnant and was brought to Mumbai's Sion Hospital in a critical condition this Friday and is under treatment now.

Dr Sandhya Kamath, Dean of Sion Hospital, said, "We have put her on a ventilator and have started the treatment immediately but she succumbed to death within 24 hours. We couldn't save the baby also."

This death takes the toll of swine flu cases, reach 465 alone in Maharashtra.

Health experts claim that a possibility of resurgence of the H1N1 disease/swine flu can be expected after the monsoon.
