Food inflation to come down soon- Says MontekThe current food inflation numbers has risen to 16.74%. It is quite high and is expected to come down soon. This has been informed by the Planning panel Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia. He has also said that the rate of price rise is a major concern for the government.

The price of the commodities is very high as well. The only good news is that the price has just started coming down. Ahluwalia was addressing to press meet while he has informed this.

As per Ahluwalia, the year-on-year food inflation rate at an alarming condition and the government is dealing with the situation quite seriously. He has also revealed that the inflation rate will now start coming down now. Food inflation is just going on high since several quarters.

However the Plan panel Deputy Chairman has anticipated that by the end of 2010, the food inflation may come down to around 6%. The overall wholesale price-based inflation is also been expected to reduce to 5.5% by the end of this fiscal year.
