Indian opener, Gautam Gambhir has been ranked at the third place among the Test batsmen while off-spinner has been placed at sixth rank among the Test bowlers in the latest ICC rankings which has been issued on Thursday.
Gambhir, the left handed batsman, with a rating of 847 points has been the top ranked Indian batsman while among the other Indians Sachin Tendulkar (13th), VVS Laxman (15th) and Virender Sehwag (20th) also made into top 20 Test batsmen.
Among the top 20 test bowlers, Harbhajan (6th) has been followed by Zaheer Khan (11th) and Ishant Sharma (20th) while Indian team has retained their third place with 117 points behind top ranked Australia (128) and South Africa (119).
Pakistan skipper, Younis Khan, who has been top ranked batsmen with 880 rating points, needs just 30 points to become the 25th batsman in history to reach the rare distinction mark of 900-point.
