German consumer prices dip in September
Berlin - German inflation went into negative territory in September, provisional figures released Monday by the Federal Office of Statistics showed.
Consumer prices in Europe's biggest economy slipped to minus 0.3 per cent on a year-to-year basis this month, according to the preliminary data, which was based on input from six German states. That comes after prices edged up to zero in August after a previous foray into negative territory in July.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were 0.4 per cent lower in September than they were in August.(dpa)
