GM India bags National Safety Award

GM India bags National Safety AwardOne of the leading players in the Indian automobile circuit, General Motors India has recently bagged the prestigious National Safety Award in the Motor Vehicles category. It is to be mentioned here that the company won this accolade two years in a row and the Halol unit of the company has been selected under the best safety systems category.

It may be noted here that the award in the country is presented by the Directorate General of the Factory Advice Service & Labour Institute.

On winning the award, P. Balendran, VP, GM India said that the award is a true testimonial of the commitment of GM India towards Safety.

Moreover, Balendran also highlighted that the award is very significant keeping in mind the kind of competition that the Indian automobile industry has. The National Safety awards were started by the government of India in 1956.

The Indian subsidiary of the American auto major has been there in the domestic circuit for the past 14 years and is currently operating with the Chevrolet brand. It has two hatch models under Chevrolet i.e. Beat and Spark.
