Google tops mobile search traffic: Opera reportAccording to a recently released Mobile web report by web browser company, Opera, Search Engine Google has been ranked as the topmost company in the mobile search domain. Most of the Mobile users across the globe use Google for online search and gaming, thereby ensuring its leading place in the mobile search traffic. However, its rivals Yandex and Baidu claimed their top place in the mobile search in Russia and China.

Yahoo, according to the report, is the second important search engine in the mobile domain in Southeast Asia, with strong hold in Nigeria and Indonesia. Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera said: "Almost all search engines are moving forward to offer relevant and timely information based on location. Yet, consumers prefer services from the search engines they already know and use."

Opera's popular mobile browser, the Opera Mini, continues to report growth with 705 page views per user in Philippines. Popular sites visited by Filipinos include Friendster and social networking giant Facebook.

With regard to handsets, Nokia handsets are the most popular mobile phone brands, followed by Sony Ericsson.
