Government to relax entry criteria for business migrants

Government to relax entry criteria for business migrants As per the media reports, the entry criteria for business migrants is being relaxed by the Government.

A new entry standard for foreign businessmen and entrepreneurs has been released by the Economic Development Minister Gerry Brownlee and Immigration Minister Jonathan Coleman.

Other than this, relaxation has also been introduced in capital, language skills and business experience criteria. It was remarked by Dr. Coleman that the initial system was simply not working.

He said: "Sure we've dropped the language requirement there but we're not anticipating that this will be huge numbers of people. And we're also not anticipating that these will be people who will need English in their day to day business interactions."

However, when Dr. Coleman was asked as to how many extra migrants the revised policy will attract to the country, he said he is not sure but it should be somewhere in thousands.
