Washington, Dec 23 : Listening to music can help reduce pain in high-anxiety people, who can easily become absorbed in cognitive activities, a new study has suggested.
Researchers from the University of Utah Pain Research Center evaluated the potential benefits of music for diverting psychological responses to experimental pain stimuli.
Anxiety leads teenagers to harm themselves

London, Nov 18 : In what is being termed the "most comprehensive study" into the problem, a 16-year survey has found that teenagers who suffer from depression or anxiety deliberately harm themselves.
One in every 12 teenagers harms himself or herself, says the study conducted in Australia between 1992 and 2008 and published Thursday by The Lancet, the world's leading general medical journal.

Washington, Mar 10 : Researchers at Rhode Island Hospital have developed a new questionnaire and outcomes measurement scale that can turn out to be a reliable and valid measure of anxiety.
The scale can easily be incorporated into routine clinical practice when treating psychiatric disorders.
If scales are to be incorporated into clinical practices, it is necessary to develop measures that are feasible and have good psychometric properties.
