H1N1 makes its presence felt yet againThe H1N1 virus is slowly spreading it wings of death as this year Kerala reported 17 deaths ahead of the monsoons followed by 2 deaths last month in Udupi. The H1N1 is known to affect respiratory system and thus via sneezing, coughing one can easily spread this disease among people in close contact. Dr Sangeetha Joshi said, "As per guidelines issued by the WHO and the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, the H1N1 vaccine can be given to healthcare workers, medical professionals and people between six months and 24 years of age." One who is between 25 years and 64 years of age with medical conditions that lowers immunity are permitted to take the vaccine is allowed to take medicines, adds the doctor.
