Nairobi, Aug 5 - Researchers in Kenya are advocating use of mobile phones to enable people seek timely help against diseases like malaria and malnutrition.
As mobile phones have penetrated most parts of Africa, including the remotest parts, the researchers feel it would make it easier to approach health officials.

These women are not waiting to draw water from a borehole or to buy food.
Instead, they are waiting to be tested for HIV - something that campaigners say is virtually unheard of in Africa.

Medical experts and environmentalists in Kenya blame climate change for fuelling malaria in the country.
Warmer temperatures and variations in rainfall patterns are responsible for the incidences of malaria in areas where they were never expected, they say.
