Various studies have revealed relationship between natural body odour and man-woman relationship. Recent study has revealed that women smell of onions while men smell of cheese.
Research team from Firmenich, a company in Geneva that researches flavours and perfumes for food and cosmetics companies studied the armpit sweat samples from
24 males and 25 females after they had spent time in a sauna or 15 minutes on an exercise bike.
Study of sweat samples revealed that sweat from women contained high amounts of an odourless sulphur-containing compound if mixed with bacteria usually found under the arm; it was transformed into a chemical called thiol, well known for its onion-like smell.
Sweat from men had high levels of an odourless fatty acid which released a cheesy smell when exposed to enzymes produced by bacteria in the armpits.
Smell from women's armpits was more unpleasant by a team of independent testers recruited by the scientists.
