ER Test For Identifying Heart Failure Superior

ER Test For Identifying Heart Failure SuperiorA new study unveiled Tuesday, reveals a new blood test for identifying heart failure in patients who turn up at emergency rooms, complaining of shortness of breath and in dire need of treatment, has proved more accurate than tests in current use in the USA.

Developed by Brahms AG, a privately held German firm, the pivotal trial of the test has performed far better, demonstrating its superiority over tests considered to be the current gold standard.

Dr. W. Frank Peacock, one of the study’s lead investigators thinks it to be significantly better than what is currently available.

Not only does it identify the sickest heart failure patients better than current tests used in the United States, it also predicts the 90-day mortality in these patients, allowing healthcare providers to provide appropriate care, inside and outside the hospital.
