Change of environment aids in losing weight

losing weightAccording to the researchers of the Cornell University, the change in environmental conditions helps in shedding off the excess weight. This finding resulted from a study which was performed on 200 respondents who were recommended diet tips from 3 varied categories: changing eating pattern, changing environment and change of food preferences.

The initial three months saw participants lose 1-2 pounds per tip per month. These transitions happened in less than twenty days. In case of environmental changes researchers counseled people to use smaller plates, switch off computers, cell phones and television during the intake of meals.

This study brought forward interesting insights such as avoiding high calorific food and ignoring all kinds of junk food as stated by the Director of the Cornell Food and Brand Lab, Brian Wansink at an Experimental Biology conference, this week at Anaheim, California.
