Pollution is increasing so rapidly that it has started affecting the entire human life cycle. According to doctors, fertility healing achievement rates have been decreased in infected areas where air pollution is too high. The detection emerged from the major ecological study of its segment. And it may help medics boost women's probability to conceive.
The most harmful polluting agents are exhausted by power stations burning fossil fuel and from diesel exhaust. They discharge a gas named nitrogen dioxide, which has injurious to health and affects the female reproductive system. It causes troubles which check an egg from fertilizing in the womb.
About 7,000 women of child-bearing age participated in a seven-year long project headed by doctors from Penn State College of Medicine. Researchers collected pollution statistics from the US Environmental Protection Agency.
They estimated the amount of exposure of each woman towards pollution during IVF and pregnancy on a daily basis. IVF involves detailed monitoring of the patient. It could evaluate accurately the result of exposure to pollution on treatment and consequent pregnancies.
