Honda’s Indian unit to recall 72k City Sedans for faulty power windows replacementWashington, Sept 6 : The India unit of Honda Motor Co. is to call back 72,115 units of its City sedans manufactured between 2005 and 2007 to replace the faulty power window switches.

Honda Siel Cars India Ltd said that the decision is part of a global exercise by the Japanese automaker and is an extension of an exercise announced in January 2010 to replace the same part in 8,532 units of the second-generation City sedan.

The company said that the third-generation City sedan currently sold in India as well as the Jazz hatchback and the CR-V sport-utility vehicle are not affected by the recall, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The company further added that all the replacements would be carried out for free.

The latest recall plan followed the announcement of Honda Siel Cars in February to recall 57,853 City sedans, produced between November 2008 and December 2009, to replace a faulty part. (ANI)
