‘Howl’ by James Franco releases today in twin citiesThe flick "Howl" stars James Franco who plays the role of acclaimed poet Allen Ginsberg. The movie would be released in New York and in San Francisco today. It would be released in Los Angeles a week later and before it's released all over the nation.

The film, kick-started the Outfest Film Festival over the summer, depicts the story of how the young Allen Ginsberg's influential work broke several barriers of the social kind right in front of an absolutely infamous public trial of disgust and obscenity. This sickening ordeal was faced by Ginsberg after he published his very controversial poem Howl. The adaptation of the poem in a film seemed like a boon for Franco as he got one of the best roles of his life.

This movie is directed by the duo of Jeffrey Friedman and Rob Epstein. The movie completely boasts of a very effectual performance Jon Hamm; one might remember him as a character that he played in Mad Men. He plays an exceptionally intricate and powerful role as the defense attorney in "Howl".

David Strathairn is in his usual terrific best as he essays the role of the prosecutor and the actors playing the witnesses who are called in to testify are an all-star team in actuality. The team includes the likes of Jeff Daniels and Mary-Louise Parker.
