After many delays, Hyundai Motor India (HMIL), country's second largest car maker has finally rolled out the LPG variant of its entry-level sedan Accent in the Indian market.
The introduction of this new LPG version of Accent is part of company's initiative to promote eco-friendly and non-polluting means of transport.
Dubbed as 'Accent eco', this new sedan with a bi-fuel capability will be available for Rs 5,33,390 ex-showroom in New Delhi, which is about Rs 35,000 dearer than the existing petrol model.
The company authorities said that with separate Petrol (45 Litre) and LPG (27.2 litre) fuel tanks, the customers has an option to choose from both LPG and petrol driving mode.
Powered by the 1.5 litre engine with a 5 speed manual Transmission, the Accent eco offers its customers a unique combination of safe and reliable performance with an unmatched fuel economy.
While talking to reporters at the launch of Accent eco, Mr. H S Lheem, Managing Director of HMIL, stated, "The LPG version will only add to the appeal of Accent, as it will not only be cheaper to run and maintain but also eco friendly." At present, HMIL offers the Santro in CNG and LPG variants and now the Accent LPG adds to its range of offerings in the alternative fuel cars.
