IMA Urges Bihar DGP To Recover Abducted Kid Safely

KidnappingOver the past few months there have been several incidents of kidnapping children, but in most cases, the kids were murdered.

Such stories are tear-jerking for everyone; parents' pain is all but unbearable.

Meanwhile, across the country, parents fear their kid could be next. Young girls are considered most vulnerable.

According to recent reports, a class 6 student Rithik Kumar, who is the son of medical practitioner Dr. Sudhir Kumar, has been abducted from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur region.

The reports also said that the kidnapped kid remained traceless.

This is the second incident of kidnapping in the region within a week’s time.

During the past week, the dead body of eight-year-old Satyam was recovered on Friday night at his neighbor’s house.

Mr. B.N. Jha, Indian Medical Association (IMA) district president, stated,

On Saturday, Indian Medical Association (IMA) decided to give "extra time" to police till Monday considering the actions taken by the police officials to recover Rhitik safely.

Accordingly, IMA has decided to hold its general body meeting at Muzaffarpur on Monday to decide its future plan.

DGP D N Gautam was called up by state-level delegation of IMA on Saturday. He was apprized regarding the worries and angst of the medical union.

The delegates comprising state IMA chief Dr. Raman Kumar Verma, secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Thakur, immediate past president Dr. Basant Singh, senior vice-president Dr. S N P Singh, Dr. Sachchidanand Kumar, president elect Dr. Ramesh Prasad Singh, national vice-president Dr. Vijay Shankar Singh and Dr. D K Choudhary, among others.

Dr. Verma stated that the delegates asked the DGP to take effectual steps for early and safe recovery of the child.

He said that the state DGP gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that the child would be recovered "shortly and safely."

Before meeting of IMA delegates with the DGP, an authorized group of the organization also visited Muzaffarpur to assess the existing abnormal situation there.

They also extended support to the Rhitik parents and IMA’s Muzaffarpur division.

In a signed note, Dr, Verma said, “The IMA has expressed its deep shock and anguish over the incidence which has occurred at a time when general law and order situation in the state was fast improving under the present government and people had reasons to feel relaxed.”

Earlier, police arrested Sudhir’s compounder for his alleged participation in the kidnap.

Muzaffarpur Superintendent of Police Sudhansu Kumar said raids are being conducted and assured the family that Rithik will be recovered soon.
