Indian team has defeated France 3-0 in the league phase of the girl’s team event of the World Junior Squash Tournament, and they kept their hopes alive for making into the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
Ananka Alankamony showed brilliant skills to put India to a tie after Indian team went down in first two games. Anaka has replaced Anwesha Reddy in the Indian team. Earlier, Dipika Pallikal led Indian to win first match.
Ananka raised her game after losing first two games to Lecoq, and the French girl was not able to match brilliant performance of her Indian opponent.
However, Pallikal did not give any chance to Emilie Lamilango and raced away with match without facing any difficulty. Surbhi Misra started on a negative note as she lost first game to Cyrielle Peltier but she came back strongly to in the match.
In Pool ‘B’ match, English girls ousted Germany in the league stage and England will lock horns with India on Wednesday for top position in the pool.
