India plays a big role for GM & Ford

India plays a big role for GM & FordIt is believed that the American economy is still not fully out of the recession onslaught while the European markets remain as a concern as sales in several large markets, such as Germany, are expected to stall this year, various large automobile companies are running hard towards the emerging markets like India, China and South America.

Similar to what IT & Pharmaceuticals did to the global industries; India is particularly emerging as the critical piece in the global auto industry's marketplace.

Be it the Volkswagen AG 20% stake buy in Suzuki Motor Corporation or the Tata Motors-Fiat, Bajaj Auto-Nissan-Renault deals, the Indian market is gaining ground fast.

In fact, Detroit majors General Motors and Ford are no exception. Already making their presence felt in the dragon land, it has been learned that General Motors is counting on India as a major market to lead its revival. Similarly Ford is also banking on emerging markets to lead its revival under the one Ford strategy. Be it the Beat or the Figo, both of them have been able to hit the sweet spot of the Indian consumer.

Moreover, both these giants have plans to launch many more blockbusters for the Indian consumer in the coming times.
