The campaign of the Indian players came to a halt in the World Games squash competition when National champion Sourav Ghosal lost his match against the top seed Brit Nick Matthew of England on Wednesday at the Chung Cheng Martial Arts Stadium, Kaohsiung.
The eight seed Ghosal was outclassed by Matthew in a four setter quarterfinal match of the men's singles by 4-11, 13-11, 9-11, 6-11.
Earlier, Ritwik Bhattacharya of India also went down to Frenchman Julien Balbo 2-11 21-23 6-11 in the first round of the men’s single event.
In the quarterfinal match of the women's singles event, Joshna Chinnappa lost her match against the world no. 1, Nicol David of Malaysia by 2-11 7-11 3-11.
