Indian Oil posts Rs.284.4 crore profit in second quarter

Mumbai, Oct 30 - State-run Indian Oil Corp Friday said it posted a net profit of Rs. 284.4 crore for the second quarter, as against a net loss of Rs. 7,047.1 crore for the quarter ended Sep 30, 2008.

Total income for the quarter under review stood at Rs. 61,817.8 crore, compared to Rs. 86,987.4 crore for the quarter ended Sep 30, 2008.

The company said the comparative figures for the half-year ended Sep 30, 2008 did not include the figures of Bongaigaon Refinery and Petrochemicals, which was merged with Indian Oil March 25, 2009. (dpa)
