Indonesian Air Force helicopter crashes, kills twoJakarta  - A helicopter belonging to the Indonesian Air Force crashed Friday afternoon in West Java province, killing two people and injuring five others, officials and media reports said.

The Puma SA-330 chopper with seven people on board - a pilot, co-pilot and five technicians - came down just south of Jakarta, the state-run Antara news agency reported.

Air Force spokesman Bambang Sulistiono said the helicopter was on a flying test after undergoing maintenance when it crashed and burst into flames.

Two technicians were killed instantly and five others were injured, three of them seriously, according to the detik. com online news portal.

The cause of the crash was still unknown, officials said.

It was the latest in a series air accidents involving Indonesian military aircraft in recent weeks. On Monday, an army helicopter crashed in West Java's Cianjur district, killing three soldiers and members of the army's Kopassus elite unit.

On May 20, a Hercules military plane with 112 people on board, crashed into a residential neighbourhood in East Java province, killing at least 100 people, including three people on the ground.

On April 6, a Fokker F-27 crashed into a hangar and burst into flames in West Java's capital, Bandung, killing all 24 on board.(dpa)
