Puducherry, July 27 : Iqbal Singh was sworn-in as the new Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Puducherry today.

Madras High Court Chief Justice H. L. Gokhle administered the oath of office to Singh.

The Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs, Narayanswami, Chief Minister Vaithyalingam, Assembly Speaker Radhakrishnan, State Ministers, MLAs and other political leaders presented at a ceremony.

Later, Singh accepted the Guard of Honour, presented by the Puducherry Police. (ANI)
