Jonathan Alter working on biography of Jimmy Carter

Famous author, who has written books on Presidents Barack Obama and Franklin Roosevelt, is busy these days in penning down biography of Jimmy Carter. On Tuesday, Simon & Schuster made an announcement that Jonathan Alter's book on Carter is going to have ‘extensive cooperation’ from the former president and his followers.

The book hasn’t given any title yet, and will be published in 2018. Simon & Schuster is also a publisher of Carter, and has issued his memoir ‘A Full Life’ recently. Last week, the 90-year-old Carter publicized that he went under treatment for cancer that has spread to his brain.

Alter has written a lot of books, and among his number of works comes, ‘The Defining Moment’, which is on Roosevelt's first 100 days in office, and ‘The Promise’, which covered the first year of Obama's presidency.

Jimmy Carter and his hometown always remained tangled since the day he revealed that he would run for president. For the gatherings, meeting an old train depot downtown became his local campaign office.

Carter said that for him and former first lady Rosalynn Carter, Plains has always been a ‘haven’ from their work in Atlanta and across the world. Both of them have born and grown up in the area. They always had to return here after a challenge, like his 1980 loss to Ronald Reagan and last Thursday’s first radiation treatment.
