The famous Australian singer Kylie Minogue has been fighting cancer for quite some time now. Although the singer does not face any immediate threat from the disease anymore, the side effects from the cancer drugs is taking a heavy toll on her.

The singer will officially finish her drug treatment by 2011; the singer said she cannot wait to get off those strong medications. The popular Australian singer underwent surgery and chemotherapy when she got diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. Although the doctors have eliminated the immediate threat, the singer has to take the cancer medications to prevent a relapse.

The `Spinning Around' singer is hoping that the doctors will give her a clean chit this time and she can finally bid adieu to the cancer medications. Speaking about her recovery, Minogue said that the road has not been easy for her and she will be very happy to lead a medication-free life from 2011 onwards. The singer said, "I'll finish next year and that will be amazing, but I've also heard you can feel quite insecure when you first come off it because you have relied on this medication for so long. It's going to be a big adjustment."
