Afghan forces arrest senior Taliban leader in KandaharKandahar, Dec. 3 : Afghan forces arrested Juma Khan, a senior Taliban leader in former Taliban stronghold Kandahar on Sunday, provincial administration said in a statement Monday.

"Acting upon intelligence report, the security forces raided the hideout of Juma Khan in Panjwai district yesterday evening and arrested him on the spot without any resistance," the statement added.

Juma Khan, who was in charge of military operations in Panjwai district, was detained along with two militants, the statement said, adding two Kalashnikovs and three hand grenades were also seized during the operation. (Xinhua-ANI)
